Brand development GERRY WEBER OPEN/TERRA Wortmann Open

Organising a tennis tournament in Halle/Westphalia – and on grass as well – was still dismissed by many as a crazy idea in 1992. But over the years, it has developed into the largest ATP lawn tennis tournament in Germany.

The partnership between the tournament and MEDIUM has lasted for over 25 years. During this time, we have produced numerous communication tools: event posters, programme booklets, advertisements, websites, etc.

The introduction of the green “grass ball” as a trademark was the key to the brand image today. The new brand identity and logo were launched in time for the tenth edition of the tennis tournament in 2002. The positioning became a visible brand identity: lawn tennis. The new logo quickly caught on and was present on all media, sports shirts and merchandising products. The logo is also establishing itself internationally and forms the central core of the brand image under the new name sponsor and partner, the TERRA WORTMANN OPEN.
